NFL Week Seven Preview: Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders
at
Another week, another division rival. Please, not another debacle like last week.
I'm trying to figure out why in certain quarters people are jumping on the Kansas City bandwagon. They're not that good. Why people are paying a lick of attention to the whole Priest Holmes soap drama when you're facing a team with Larry Johnson escapes me. Once you get past Johnson and Tony Gonzales, there's not a whole lot of "there" there in the Chiefs offense. The defense is okay against the pass but weak against the run, something the Raiders can hopefully exploit without themselves being eaten alive by Johnson like they were last week by LaDanian Tomlinson.
As to the Raiders, they need to shake off last week. Dante Culpepper needs to step his game up considerably, and the defense needs to figure out how to make Damon Huard have to pass. To someone other than Gonzales, that is, as he has burned Oakland repeatedly during the years by exploiting a weak short passing game defense. Thomas Howard, time to shine.
Come on, Raiders. Prove you belong in the NFL. Beat the Chiefs. Please.
