NFL Week Six Wrap-Up: Oakland Raiders at San Diego Chargers

I won't dwell on this game long. I'm running out of breakable objects to throw.
Next year, the Raiders need to ask the league if they can skip their bye week. Coming off of it, the Raiders played their absolute worst game of the year this past Sunday in San Diego. As if the rejuvenated Chargers needed the help.
Let's see, where to start. Yes, LaDanian Tomlinson is everything he's cracked up to be. But when the defense barely breathed on him all day, let alone slowed him down or containing him or stopping him (like I'll live long enough to see that), is it any wonder he personally humiliated the Raiders... yet again?
The offense was equally inept. A combination of suddenly alarmingly porous pass protection plus a corps of receivers that couldn't open a pop-top can, let alone get open, led to Dante Culpepper getting sacked six times. Even when he wasn't being used as a tackling dummy, he was terrible. The rushing game was non-existent. Even the playcalling was lame; when the Raiders had a beautiful opportunity to tie the game and seize momentum at the end of the first half, with the ball on the Chargers one and ten seconds left, an ill-advised and even more sickening carried out pass attempt led to a sack, which led to another pass attempt... and a Culpepper fumble.
Please let this be an aberration and not a sign the Raiders have regressed to their miserable state of the past three years. Please.
The next game is this coming Sunday at home against Kansas City.

Although I live in San Diego..........I couldn't help but think of you during the game Sunday...........I can't say that I'm sorry, having lived here for almost 40 years...............sigh.......I just want to wish your Raiders luck....but not when they play the Chargers. Peace, Mike.
